WHAT IS DIYA?
A Diya is a lamp typically made from clay. Diyas are native to the Indian subcontinent and are often used in Sikh, Hindu, Jain, and Zoroastrian festivals. Traditionally, diyas burn with a cotton wick dipped in oils. The Alooatta Diya lamps are filled with vegan soy wax and an eco-friendly natural cotton wick for a clean burn.
WHAT IS RANGOLI DESIGN?
During Diwali or Deepawali, celebrants create bright and elaborate Rangoli patterns out of coloured powders or sands. These designs welcome guests and invite prosperity.
WHAT IS DIWALI?
Diwali - also known as the Festival Of Lights - is the most important annual occasion for the more than 5 million people of Indian descent who are living in North America. The five-day festival is celebrated around the world by Sikhs, Hindus, Jains, and many Buddhists. Key to the Diwali experience is the lighting of diyas, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness.
